Christmas is a season of wonder and joy - of whimsical decorations, caroling and frost covered windows.  Let your tour group experience this special time in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia! Everywhere you look, your group will find intricate decorations and holiday cheer set amidst historical flare.  Highlights of your tour will include; Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, and the Newport News Park Celebrations of Lights! Christmas in Williamsburg is sure to bring your group the kind of cheer & holiday spirit to last a lifetime.


Day One          

Take a tour of Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh.  The Winter Flower Show inside this Victorian glass greenhouse will delight with breathtaking displays of Poinsettias, kalanchoes, chrysanthemums and azaleas. 

See the annual Garden Railroad, a delight for all ages, showcases G-scale trains riding through varying terrain, newly created every year.  Lunch is included here in a private room for your group. 

Dinner included this evening at a historic Victorian style Hotel in Strasburg VA.

Day Two

Arrive at the Shenandoah Caverns, here you can visit three attractions at one location: 

Come join the celebration - American Celebration on Parade!   Over 30 floats from Rose and Thanksgiving Day Parades on display.

Experience the nostalgia as you wind your way down Main Street of Yesteryear - see windows filled with colorful animated antique department store displays.

The Yellow Barn offers the unexpected pleasure of the Main Street experience merged with farmers market and rural life.  Christmas store, model trains and restored antiques.   

Take a tour of historic holiday traditions west of Williamsburg at Shirley Plantation, Virginia's first plantation (1613).  Enjoy a guided tour of the Great House with its original furnishings, highlighted by family Christmas stories dating back to the early 1800s.

Dinner included this evening at a local favorite Tavern, decked out for the holidays and with live entertainment.


Day Three

Arrive at YorktownVictory Center, and meet your guide here for a guided Sampler tour of the exhibition galleries and outdoor living history areas.    At the 1780s farm, historical interpreters demonstrate a variety of holiday activities, including sharing the English tradition of Boxing Day, setting a farmhouse table for a holiday feast, decorating with greenery and demonstrating fancy cooking in the farm kitchen.   

Lunch on own at one of the various cafes throughout the Historic Yorktown area and Riverwalk Landing.  Visit the Christmas Marketplace during the second Saturday in December.

Spend the afternoon at Colonial Williamsburg!  Step back into the 18th Century at America's most comprehensive living history museum, Colonial Williamsburg.  Your self guided  admission here includes four hours ( 1-5pm) sampling some of the best of the Historic Area. Tour the Governor's Palace, Capitol, or Raleigh Tavern . Visit a trade shop or historic house and discover something about the everyday life of Williamsburg's 18th-century residents.  

Dickens Christmas Dinner tonight located in Historic Lee Hall Village. 

Next, travel through Newport News Park and view the Celebration in Lights, a dazzling Holiday lights display featuring 'Winter Wonderland' and 'Santa's Enchanted Kingdom'.  As you drive through on your coach, see over  a half a million individual lights creating animated holiday and fanciful scenes. 

Day Four:

Jamestown 1607: The First Permanent English Settlement. This authentic living history museum recreates the English settler village and for alongside the Powhatan Indian Village.

Afterwards, guests can visit the re-created outdoor settings on their own and the gift shop.  Special holiday programsgive you a glimpse into how the nation's first permanent English settlers weathered the cold holiday seasons of the 1600s. 

Proceed north towards Bedford PA

Dinner included in a 1760s historic landmark.  Due to its location, this tavern became an

important haven for early settlers and travelers.

Check in at  your AAA rated, 3 Diamond hotel nearby for your overnight.  


Day Five

Breakfast included at the hotel and depart for home.

Arrive at the crown jewel of the Pittsburgh skyline - PPG Placeis the home of the Wintergarden, view the SPIRITS OF GIVING FROM AROUND THE WORLD EXHIBIT: See the splendor of the holidays come alive during PPG Place's breathtaking "Spirits of Giving From Around the World" exhibit.
